Drought strongly affects plants and in agricultural production systems

Water deficit and drought can have devastating effects on plant growth and yield. In order to exploit adaptation mechanisms, those mechanism need to be understood. Since drought affects different development stages of crops in different ways, adaptation and resistance mechanisms need to be investigated as a function of development stage.
